La Mort De L’Hippocampe – Cheminement De L’Extase

La Mort De L’Hippocampe – Cheminement De L’Extase (LP, 250 copies) SOLD OUT

The path we all need to follow…

La Mort De L’Hippocampe was the short-lived project by Jérôme Fontan after he stopped his elektro project Porn.Darsteller.The project ended with the unexpected death of Jérôme in June 2011.
This is the second and last album, but was produced before the Symphonie Neuronale album released earlier this year. Jérôme preferred that album to be released the first. So it was done…

Cheminement De L’Extase is much more a spiritual record as the first one. It comes in two parts. The first part is a metaphysic poem illustrate with experimental, industrial and classical sounds.
Next to analog sounds done with Minimoog and tape echo also acoustic instruments like percussion and electric violin are used. The second part is mostly based on texts from Hildegard von Bingen. This part is rather old school industrial in sound but this is mixed with medieval instrument like “vielle à roue” and “bombarde bretonne”. The lyrics are done in spoken word style by Isabelle Toro who was also featured on the first released album.Again this La Mort De L’Hippocampe album is released as a co-production between Enfant Terrible and Verbascripta. And again the artwork is true craftsmanship done by Bran.

Selected press quotes:

“Letztlich ist „Cheminement De L’Extase“ natürlich eine Platte, die nicht den leicht identifizierbaren Hit enthält – man muss sich vielmehr einhören, die Atmosphäre auf sich wirken lassen, wobei es der Platte aber auch gelingt, den Hörer an sich zu binden. Angesichts der durchlaufenden Plattenseiten ist man am Ende jedenfalls überrascht, wie kurzweilig sich die Musik letztlich gestaltet.” (Nonpop)
