Ramplingg + homemade vinyls

Ramplingg is the solo project by Sara from Diverting Duo… this solo endeavour is a bit darker as her collaboration project… more dark wave and new wave minded and less synth pop / indie pop in mood and style… These five tracks take you on a dark trip for sure!

This debut is a super nice CD which comes in a LP style cardboard inner and outer sleeve. It is released in collaboration between Tiny Speaker ad Etch Wear. There is also a super limited 10″ version featuring one track from the CD and a remix… This vinyl is handcut / homemade at Etch Wear HQ in Norway… and is part of the recent explorations by Etch Wear in homemade vinyls… super cool and more DIY is not possible…

Below one of the tracks from the Rampling CD… and the CD is also available from the ET webshop…

Out now!

I am very happy that at last the four new records are ready and I can start shipping this week… it took about a month longer as aspected… but in the end it most of the time does…

Now it is time for folding sleeves and assembling the records… then I can ship out to pre-orders and shops… of course these new releases are also available in the ET webshop here and here

I hope you will enjoy these as much as I do!

Summer break

Even though the recent releases are quite fresh… and I am still shipping these as we speak… ET HQ will be shut down from today onwards… until mid August… meaning I will be offline… for a summer break…

The next four releases are at the pressing plant… so all is in production for  a new batch of records coming this autumn…

Enjoy your summer and see you on the other side…

New beats

Recently some great beat orientated records arrived here at ET HQ… these are added now to the webshop… instead of using too many words I have posted below three tracks from three of these records…

One is by Solitary Dancer… a project which reminds me in some ways of Sololust… another one is Multiple Man… a band with a classic EBM sound… very much like Ministry during their “Twitch” period and also with references to Nitzer Ebb… also the second compilation on DKA Records arrived… filled again with contemporary EBM beats and moods… Celldöd contributes a track which seems like a tribute to Liaisons Dangereuses… all three tracks are below… enjoy!

80’s tunes

I updated the webshop with two re-issues of obscure 80’s stuff… one is the Neue Krankenscheine 7″… which was originally released on tape in 1984… this one for fans of the classic sounds (pre-sets) of the Casio VL-Tone… and rather punk and DIY… below is one of the crazy tracks from this record…

Even more happy I am with the record by Schatten Unter Eis… in 2006 there was a vinyl on the legendary WSDP label… and now there is another vinyl release… 99% based on the tape released back in 1983… this band is also very much in the punk/DIY tradition… also lo-fi and also playful… below is a track not from the recently released album but from the one which came out in 2006… but this one is such a classic!

You can find both records in my webshop here…

A Casa and Gouffre

Sometime ago I wrote about Ensync… this was the second release in the “Synesthetic Alchemy” series by 213 Records from Metz, France. The first release was by A Casa… which is equally interesting as the Ensync record…

The A Casa album is a psychedelic record with on the A-side music with a sort of indie feeling and mood… a drum computer with a steady but light rhythm and on top of this playful sounds and dreamy vocals… a sort of stretch version of Kim Ki O maybe… the B-side is less friendly so to speak… the piece starts with a high pitched tone… which keeps going on quite long and gets more intense along the way… and more annoying (in a good way!)… this evolves into a dark and ritual sounding soundscape with noises and screams… a rather occult listening experience for sure… you can listen to the A-side here…

Out most recently in this series is the Gouffre album… a band from the hometown of the label… like A Casa the A and B sides differ… but not as strongly… on the A-side you get a band sounding like The Velvet Underground with John Cale on cello instead of on violin playing totally on dope and freaked out… imagine this and you might get an idea where Gouffre is coming from… whatever way you like to describe the music on this record the result is absolute amazing stuff… ritualistic and occult sounding but never dull or cliché… this could also fit for music while watching “Carnivale”…

The B-side is a band maybe more related to Sonic Youth as The Velvet Underground… but a Sonic Youth armed with cello instead of electric guitars and sounding a bit more archaic maybe… it also calls to mind France with its hurdy gurdy and drums… they produce the same psychedelic drone-like noise… here you can listen to the A-side…

This “Synesthetic Alchemy” series has become one of my favourite labels/series to follow… and a fourth release is coming soon… I cannot wait for that one… It is all simply excellent  stuff until now!

In case you are curious I have a few copies of the Gouffre for sale in the webshop… and I think I have also some Ensync copies left…
