Neurobit at Radio Resistencia

rr_logoThis thursday there is a new Radio Resistencia recording setting… this time as try-out at a new location: Vechtclub XL. Kapitaal is closing and hopefully will be moving into a new place soon… but after two years of excellent radio sessions it is over for Radio Resistencia at Kapitaal…

Vechtclub XL is also located in Utrecht and a hotspot for the creative industry in the city… so we are happy to do this episode over there and maybe we will stay there a bit longer…

Anyway… Neurobit will perform live… and this will be a sort of delayed release party for the “Moira” album on Vrystaete… so expect excellent minimal music in the style of Philip Glass and Steve Reich… but all done with gameboys… below a little preview…

Out now (at last)…

ET044After waiting and waiting and waiting finally the new records are ready… I do not want to sound frustrated but it is simply the truth to tell you that the reasons to blame are the fake vinyl hype and the commercial  event record store day... pressing plants cannot handle these temporary (that is what they are!) seductions and push orders from labels who are here for much longer ahead…

Anyway the new Gooiland Elektro compilation, the Neurobit LP on Vrystaete and the Neugeborene Nachtmusik 7″ are now ready and being shipped… you can order it at the Enfant Terrible webshop and soon at several specialised shops and mailorders worldwide…

And… here is another full track preview of the “Noblesse Oblige” compilation (by Profligate) on Gooiland Elektro to celebrate these releases…

Printed matters

This weekend I have been printing the art prints for the upcoming Neurobit record on Vrystaete and the sleeves for the new Gooiland Elektro compilation… both records are expected late March…

The art prints for the Neurobit record are designed by Sasj and are geometric patterns… originally the design was intended to have 3 layers but in the end I decided to only go for 2 layers… less is more and as the third layer was a big square with patterns in it this would have been quite hard to do with silk screen printing…

The design is printed in three color variations… so 50 prints of each variation… see above… when (pre)ordering the record you can state your wish for a specific color combination…

As always these prints where done at the printing facilities of Kapitaal in Utrecht…

Vrystaete update

Vry05_V1Next to the already announced Gooiland Elektro compilation and the Neugeborene Nachtmusik 7 inch a new Vrystaete release is in production…

This 5th release on Vrystaete is by Neurobit… a name not unknown to people who follow ET activities… Neurobit has been present on ET ever since the “Kamp Holland” compilation LP… the same musician also operates under the alias of Former Descent… also know from various appearances on ET…

Anyway Neurobit is back… while his previous Petit Enfant 7 inch was rather electronic orientated minimal music… a bit reminiscent of Terry Riley in a way… sort of chip tune drones… this new record is much more organic sounding… tranquil and relaxed ambient/drone sort of music… invoking temple and rainforest like atmospheres… and more Philip Glass and Steve Reich like as Riley… to stick to references in the minimal music world…

The record is expected at the end of March and will come with a nice art print…

Radio Resistencia

RR_logoLunchtime at my day job… so a few words on Radio Resistencia, the monthly radio show I have been involved with for some years now…

Tonight from 22.00 hour to 01.00 hour (CET) Radio Resistencia will be on for a three hour show at Intergalactic FM on IFM1. This episode features dj M.,  dj Alacidus and dj Sololust. I will be opening the show with a set of dark and moody music ranging from Kobosil to Burzum and from Oake to December…

Radio Resistencia first started when I met with Andy Dufter (known from Lesbian Mouseclicks and Staatseinde) and Sololust. Not too long after this dj Alacidus became our second resident dj (next to me) and our frequent collaborator is nobody less as Former Descent/Neurobit/Rioteer… both for live performances as well as dj sets…

We started in Utrecht in a wharf at the canal in the city centre before moving around a bit… also from time to time we do shows somewhere else or record an Enfant Terrible event as an episode of Radio Resistencia… like in Berlin in June 2014 (see the video below this post)…

Starting from December 2015 onwards we are located back in Utrecht at projectspace/artist workplace and more Kapitaal…  at this place also Vrystaete and Petit Enfant (coming back in 2015!) sleeves/packaging is printed by hand…

From January onwards the radio shows are presented as mini events where a small audience is welcome… this can be regular shows but also release parties for  ET releases or something yet undefined… these events take place on sunday afternoons starting mostly at 15.00 hour and ending around 18.00 hour… there are locals beers to drink and often nice concerts but always music you do not hear anywhere else!
