Earlier this year I released the R A D K O debut 7″… the Italian duo returns now with a new track and video… the video is again done by Lissa Benno like the previous video… the track will be part of the next release… which the band is working now… so until it is here you can enjoy “Orgon”…
This Saturday (28th of April) it is Gifgrond time again… my most favourite location / party in Holland… Europ Europ needed to cancel unfortunately but Monocorpse will replace them to shake things up with his dark beats… next to that Soft As Snow will present their contemporary new wave / shoegaze music and Hexenschuss will bring their arty post-punk live to stage…
I will spin some records before, in between and after the bands… and if people like to dance maybe even to late…
Out now are the latest four releases on Enfant Terrible, Vrystaete and Gooiland Elektro.
On Gooiland Elektro Monocorpse and The Untitled have appeared. Monocorpse already with this third 12″ EP and The Untitled with his debut on Gooiland Elektro/Enfant Terrible. Of course The Untitled has released way more before on his own label and other labels… check out his harsh acid/techno music here…
Monocorpse delivers his finest (in my opinion) EP up till now… a strange mix of soundtrack and dance floor minded stuff… like always dark and moody… you can find all the infos and sound previews here… and check out a video for this record below…
R A D K O from Italo deliver their debut 7″ with two tracks which border new wave, cold wave, shoegaze and even indie music in some ways… there is a video below and all infos are to be found here…
On Vrystaete comes the Bebe Fang LP… a personal favourite of mine… a haunting mix of lo-fi, ambient, folklore, ritual and psychedelic music… something I would like to invite you to explore yourself… get a taste of it here…
Two releases I enjoyed a lot these last weeks are the debut LP by Diverting Duo and the debut vinyl release by Brannten Schnüre .
“Desire” by Diverting Duo was released in October on Etch Wear… the Norwegian label run by one of the Europ Europ members… Diverting Duo themselves are from Italy and are indeed a duo… music wise their sound is a mix of synthpop and shoegaze… rather melanchcholy and soothing… and for sure the band is inspired by Julee Cruise… not only vocally… a really nice and even sweet record…
The other record which really caught my intention is the first vinyl release by German Brannten Schnüre… who is of course one of the two musicians behind Diamantener Oberhof and who is also known as Agnes Beil… the LP “Sommer Im Pfirschichhain” is at a few point reminiscent of the Diamanter Oberhof LP… as it features the same mix of dreamy electronic soundscapes and touches of folklore music… but most of the pieces are much more like dreamscapes… becoming ritual at some points… even to the point it reminds me a bit of the ambient pieces by The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath A Cloud…
Sunday 22nd of November there will be a new Radio Resistencia session in the afternoon. This time with Europ Europ from Norway and Diverting Duo from Italy.
Europ Europ is of course no stranger to followers of Enfant Terrible and listeners of Radio Resistencia alike… Europ Europ has performed before at a radio recording session and of course quite some music from these Norwegian post-industrialists was released through ET…
Diverting Duo is a shoegaze/new wave/indie outfit from Italy… dream pop is another genre name fitting their music…
Below this post a song/video from Diverting Duo and below that one of Europ Europ…
We start as always at 15.00 hour CET and I will put on the last tune around 18.00 hour CET… entrance is free and drinks are cheap… all of this takes place at Kapitaal in the centre of Utrecht… see you there (if you are around)!
